Residential Energy Compliance Forms

Florida Residential Energy Compliance Forms:

All Florida building permit jurisdictions require proof of Florida Building Code, Chapter 4 Energy Code Compliance at the time of permit. All residential homes must show energy efficiency which exceeds the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) by a minimum of 20%.  At Kalos, we use State of Florida approved energy compliance simulation software for producing Florida Residential Energy Code compliance forms (form 405-14 and form 402-2014) required for your building permit. Whether it’s a new home your building, an addition, or an existing home renovation – as our customer, we will work to protect the return on your investment while ensuring your project meets the Florida Energy Code Compliance standards.

HVAC Load Calcs and Equipment Selection (Manual J & Manual S):

All Florida building permit jurisdictions require ACCA Manual J heating and cooling load calculations for new home construction, additions, home renovations, or HVAC equipment replacement. Our HVAC equipment sizing software is approved by the State of Florida and meets the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) industries standards. Manual S requires that equipment be performance selected to meet the heating and cooling load Manual J calculations.  The Manual S ensures the specific manufacturer and model number chosen will meet the job specific HVAC load requirement. Entrusting your HVAC sizing to an unlicensed, inexperienced, individual could prove a costly mistake.  It takes more than just knowing how to run a HVAC sizing software to properly size equipment for the job. At Kalos, ALL of our Manual J HVAC sizing calculations are by Licensed, Professional Engineers with more than 30 years of experience in HVAC design. Go for peace of mind that the equipment installed won’t be under-sized or over-sized when it comes time to start it up in front of the home owner by trusting it to the Licensed Professionals.

HVAC Duct Sizing Calculations and Layout (Manual D):

For Residential duct work designs, ACCA Manual D is the recognized industry standard and is required for Florida residential permitting where new HVAC duct work is installed. Kalos provides HVAC duct systems that are low cost to install, efficient, and achieve occupant satisfaction. When duct work is undersized it can be noisy and energy inefficient, and over sized duct work can be expensive to install.  Don’t trust your design to a computer program, run by an individual with questionable years of experience in the field of residential construction design. Trust the Licensed Professionals with over 30 years of experience in the business of HVAC duct sizing and layout. We look at the home and roof truss layout on every job in order to determine the best locations for routing trunk and branch duct lines.  You end up with a duct system both the installer and the home owner will be happy with.

Commercial Energy Compliance Forms

Florida Commercial Energy Compliance Forms:

All Florida commercial building permit jurisdictions require proof of Florida Building Code, Chapter 5 Energy Code Compliance (section 506 for build-outs or or section 502 for shell, renovations, and occupancy changes) at the time of permit. At Kalos, we use State of Florida approved energy compliance simulation software for producing the right Florida Commercial Energy Code compliance forms required for your building permit. We know and can appreciate that you have a project budget.  As our customer, we will work to protect the return on your investment by ensuring that you get only the amount of equipment you need – at the size you need it – and at the efficiency you need to meet the Florida Energy Code Compliance standards.

Commercial HVAC Load Calculations (Manual N):

When you need to know the installed tonnage and ventilation rates for your light commercial project (15 tons and under), let our Licensed Professional Engineers determine it for you. Not all HVAC load calc software packages are the same. At Kalos, we only use 8760 hour energy analysis software which which meets ASHRAE standard 90.1.  That way, you can have the peace of mind of knowing that your a/c equipment was sized by simulating performance for every hour of the year, using weather data for the specific location of your project, by professionals with more than 30 years in HVAC design experience.
